I just found out (quite by chance, via Twitter) that Tom Felton has just arrived in Rome, where he has taken his gf for a birthday surprise. How weirdly coincidental is that! Do you suppose he got the idea from reading AWOF? (I wish!!)

He's a romantic little cuss, isn't he? Reading his Twitter is such a joy...he's just so happy and bouncy all the time! Same with Matt Lewis...he's always so cheerful!

Yeah, in canon. Canon is just so...limiting, don't you think? lol

to a certain extent...I mean canon only presents you with a limited draco...up to a certain age. despite JRK's comment about her draco not being a nice man and hating the romanticism of his character....I think she's forgetting that he's still a young man with a long life and many changes could affect him. that's why I prefer post-hogwarts fics.

I think you are quite right. But I would take it a step further. I think there is far more to Draco as a child and a teenager than JKR really bothered to flesh out. She hints at stuff here and there but doesn't really take it anywhere until book six, and even then, there's so much more she could have done, if she had chosen to. I feel the same about Lucius and Narcissa. They fascinate me. Lots of fertile ground to explore with all the Malfoys, I think!

Yes, a real romantic! It's becoming truly strange for me; I feel like he's gradually becoming my character for real in many ways! Looks, age, and this lovely romantic impulse. I have always seen the inner Draco this way, at least in quite a few of my fics. It is just waiting there to be tapped into. His Twitter is lovely, yeah! Very "up." Haven't seen Matt's.

Hey, Krissy, I have a question, since you know about Twitter. I wanted to message Tom to tell him about this funny coincidence and suggest he check out some of the places I wrote about in the Rome chapters (Jeez, I did all that research, he might as well benefit from it! And he did ask if anyone had been to Rome and knew of good places to go!) So I tried to reply to his last post, but it didn't seem to go through. Is there something special I need to do in order to post a reply to him? On my account, I am following him, as of now. Thanks for any suggestions you can give. :-)

Unfortunately, he has his direct message function disabled, but you should still be able to reply to his post. Did you click on the arrow to the right of the post you wanted to reply to? If not, you could just type @tomfelton, followed by your message, in the box at the top.

I did click on that arrow, and the message field did have @tomfelton at the beginning. The thing is, when I clicked on "reply," nothing happened. There seemed to be no way of knowing whether it had gone through and gotten posted.

Is there a way to tell?

Well, if it went through successfully, it should appear in your comments too. It'll show your name, then @tomfelton, then the message. You know something, I don't think I have your twitter friended! *weeps* What's your twitter name, so I can friend you?

Her name is Jade and he met her on the HP set, where she is a production assistant. Yeah, I WISH he would read mine! That would be wild. Especially the Rome chapters! :-)

His first movie-- do you mean "The Borrowers"? He was absolutely adorable in that one! So little, and with that frizzy red hair and the gap between his front baby teeth! A little pixie.

I would LOVE it if he ever read AWOF or my other fics! It would be awesome indeed! Yeah, actually, I have seen "Anna and the King." He really was cute in that one too. But you have to see him in "The Borrowers," if you haven't seen that one yet. He was really young in that one, about ten. Check it out:

Yeah, he's got some new film projects, from what I've read. But The Borrowers was made in 1997. Hugh Laurie is in it too, and also the actors who play Arthur Weasley and Professor Slughorn.

I really hope for him he has a room on the groundfloor, wherever he is. Though without damages and luckly without comparison to what is happening in L'Aquila, in Rome they're feeling the quakes quite strong.
